Data Protection Statement
Data protection statement
This data protection statement explains to users the nature, scope and purpose of the collection and usage of personal data on this website (hereinafter “the Site”) by the responsible operator, Sophia.T gemeinnuetzige GmbH, ZAL TechCenter, Hein-Sass-Weg 22, D-21129 Hamburg, Germany, Telephone +49 – 40 – 7975 5919.
The legal basis for data protection may be found in the Federal Data Protection Act (“Bundesdatenschutzgesetz” or “BDSG”) and the German Telemedia Act (“Telemediengesetz” or “TMG”).
When contacting the operator (e.g. via the contact form or via email), the user’s data will be saved for the purpose of processing the enquiry and/or in case of follow-up questions.
Comments and contributions
If users add comments to a blog or other articles, their IP addresses are saved. This is done as a precautionary measure for the safety of the operator, in case people includes unlawful content (libel, prohibited political propaganda, etc.) in comments and contributions. In such a case, the operator can be held liable for the comment or contribution and therefore has a rightful interest in the identity of the author.
Users may subscribe to follow-up comments. In the subscription process, the user receives a confirmation email to ensure he or she is the owner of the email address provided. Users may cancel comment subscriptions at any time. The confirmation email shall include this information.
Integration of third-party services and content.
It is possible that third-party content, such as YouTube videos, maps from Google Maps, RSS feeds and images from other websites will be integrated in the Site. A prerequisite for this integration is the transmission of the user’s IP address to the providers of such content (hereinafter “Third-Party Provider(s)”). Without the IP address, the content cannot be sent to the correct user’s browser. The IP address is therefore needed for the presentation of the content. We endeavour only to incorporate content where the respective Third-Party Provider only uses the IP address to deliver content. We do not, however, have any influence over the Third-Party Provider’s use of the IP address, e.g. saving it for statistical purposes. Wherever we are aware that this happens, we inform the users.
This Website uses Google Analytics, a web traffic analysis service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies” — text files which are saved on the user’s computer and make it possible to analyse the user’s usage of the Website. The information on the user’s usage of this Website, gathered by means of cookies, is normally transferred to a Google server in the USA, where it is saved.
If IP anonymising has been activated for this Website, the user’s IP address will first be truncated within a state of the European Union or another state signatory to the European Economic Area Agreement. Only in exceptional circumstances is the full IP address then sent to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. IP anonymisation is active for this Website. On behalf of the operator of this Website, Google uses this information to analyse the user’s usage of the Website, to generate reports on Website activity for the Website operator, and to provide further services associated with the usage of the Website and the internet.
The IP address transferred as part of the Google Analytics service is not combined with other data stored by Google. Users may prevent the saving of cookies with an appropriate setting in their browser software; we advise, however, that this may result in users not being able to make full use of some functional aspects of this Website. Furthermore, users may also prevent the data relating to their usage of the Website, gathered using cookies (including the IP address) being acquired and/or processed by Google. This is achieved by downloading and installing a browser plugin available from the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.
Further information on data usage by Google and on possibilities for changing settings and revoking or refusing data usage consent may be found on Google’s web pages: https://www.google.com/intl/en/policies/privacy/partners/ (“How Google uses data when you use our partners’ sites or apps”), http://www.google.com/policies/technologies/ads (“Advertising — privacy and terms”), and http://www.google.de/settings/ads (“Control the information Google uses to show you ads”).
As an alternative to a browser add-on, or when using a browser on a mobile device, click this link to prevent Google Analytics from storing data on your future usage of this Website. This will save an opt-out cookie on your device. If you delete your cookies, you will need to click on this link again.
